With our on-call service, we are available 24 hours a day with professional expertise. Our most important goal is to consistently produce our radiological findings with the best quality. How does this work?
We plan our workflows by putting the efficiency of our service first, not just the quality. We monitor our workflow and workload very closely to ensure that our radiologists are allocated work sensibly. Because the number of patients and radiological examinations is not the same at every hour, on every day in the summer and winter seasons. Rather, it is multifactorially triggered. A high degree of accuracy already in the planning of the cadre and the duty roster enables us to have an adequate number of specialists on duty at all times. As a result, our time for providing oral and written reports remains very short, and the satisfaction of our customers and our radiologists is high.
People rightly expect more and more from medicine. Radiology has a particularly important role to play because it is always at the forefront of patient care in providing quick and correct, groundbreaking answers.
Teleradiology is of great advantage here: it brings high expertise quickly to places where radiologists are not always available. At ERS – Emergency Radiology Schueller, we pool our radiological expertise and deliver first-class medical quality to all patients everywhere, around the clock.
At ERS, we first listen for a long time to our customers’ requirements and wishes. Then we create solutions: Together with XCOORP we have developed a generation of connectors – called “Diagnostic Gate”.
Diagnostic Gate can be quickly and easily integrated into the PACS/RIS/KIS landscape of our customers. This small hardware system is connected to the existing infrastructure via HL7 and DICOM. Diagnostic Gate transmits the patient data via VPN/IPsec directly and is highly encrypted to our ERS/XCOORP data centres.
With this in-house development and the use of state-of-the-art technologies, we can now offer the connection to our teleradiology network free of charge for all customers – whether individual practices, institutes, or hospital holding companies. This means that from now on you only pay “pay-per-use”, i.e. only our reporting of your studies!
ERS, as the leading private teleradiology provider in Switzerland and Austria, is in a strong position to support other hospitals and institutes suffering from professional shortages.
ERS currently offers its service to nearly 20 hospitals in German-speaking countries. “We are set up to cope with high capacities. It is precisely because of this that we are able to offer our staff a high caseload – the be-all and end-all for producing consistent top quality. We remain wide awake and are always growing,” confirms Gerd Schueller, founder of ERS.
A corresponding campaign was launched in October 2017. ERS learns through a multitude of personal conversations with radiological and economic decision-makers what enormous difficulties have to be mastered in the respective health markets – and offers their cooperation. “As soon as our prospective customers realise how determined we are to offer our service and which radiological and technical solutions we can provide individually, the advantages of our service become immediately clear,” adds Michael Peck, responsible for all IT services at ERS.
New deep learning CT scan processing software is now available through Radailogy that can help everyone overcome the limitations of Iterative Reconstruction. Either as an initial finding or as a second opinion to confirm or expand their own diagnosis. “What we are doing with Radailogy is a world first,” explains Gerd Schueller, founder of the Zug-based company Emergency Radiology Schueller, which launched the platform in October (see article Wirtschaft/Zuger Zeitung 29.12.2020).
Not only trauma centers and radiological institutes, but every doctor has to do with diagnosing fractures. X-rays are still the first line modality, especially in the case of trauma to the peripheral skeleton. Radailogy offers you a new, CE-approved app from AZmed in France: Rayvolve. Either let Rayvolve always process your X-ray images in the background, or you can send us selected images with a specific question. Rayvolve was trained on records from a million trauma images. AZmed shows Rayvolve a sensitivity of 96% and a specificity of 86%. In our own test series Rayvolve performed as follows: Sensitivity 93%, Specificity 86%, PPW 92%, NPW 89%, Accuracy 91%. In a multicenter study, Rayvolve achieved a time saving of 36% and an increase in specificity of 8%.
Rayvolve proves to be a valuable help for doctors in daily practice: be it that the app is used occasionally, for example in doctor’s offices, or that it is used to optimize the workflow in medical centers.
